Acelin Learning Solutions utilizes a multi-sensory approach to help students develop the two main components of a strong reader:

  1. Phonemic Awareness, and
  2. Symbol Imagery

For students who have difficulty processing and identifying sounds, we use curricula to stimulate phonemic awareness so that students can discover, identify, and distinguish sounds within a word. With good phonemic awareness skills in place, students then practice recognizing frequent letter patterns, or "sight words," to stimulate symbol imagery for reading fluency. By stimulating the brain's imaging capability, we strengthen visual memory and the reflex-like connection between words and the accompanying sounds. The result is clear, independent, fluid reading.
